Pumpkin Lotto
Try not to eat all the markers.

Pumpkin Lotto sheet example You will need:
Before the Party

  1. Draw or print out a Pumpkin Lotto sheet for each player. The spaces in the 5-by-5 grid should be large enough to write a Halloween word.
  2. Choose 30 Halloween words and write them on a large sheet of paper so that everyone will be able to read them.
  3. Write one of those same words on each of the slips of paper. Fold each slip and place in a plastic Jack-o-lantern, shoe box, hat, or other container that will hold them until you pull them out.

At the Party

  1. Give each player a Pumpkin Lotto sheet, a pencil, and a handful of pumpkin seeds.
  2. Show the big list of Halloween words. Using the words on that list, each player writes a different word in each square of the grid. The center square is "free".

When all the sheets are ready, it is time to play!

  3. Call out the words one at a time from the slips of paper. If the word called out is on a player's Pumpkin Lotto sheet, he covers it with a pumpkin seed.
  4. The first player to cover five words in a row (up, down, or diagonally) calls out "Pumpkin! Pumpkin!" The winner may then take charge of calling the words for the next game.
